RD McKinney Plumbing & Excavating, Inc. ("RD McKinney," "we," "us") runs rdmpe.com. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers rdmpe.com and its pages; our separate business systems used by our own staff are not public websites.
The short version
- We use what you send us to respond to your request and to do the work you hire us for.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. You can opt out at any time.
Information you give us
When you fill out our project inquiry form, call, text, or email us, we may collect:
- Your name, phone number, and email address.
- The property address or town, the service you need, how you heard about us, and your project details.
- Any photos or documents you attach, such as a Time of Transfer inspection report.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time) for security and troubleshooting. We also use Google Analytics, described below.
Cookies and Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited, how people find us, and whether the contact form and phone links are used. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and similar) and receives information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. We do not send your name, phone, email, or form contents to Google Analytics. Google's use of this data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Your choices: and choose "Opt out" to turn off Google Analytics on this site in this browser, install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. The site works without analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies on this site.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, schedule a site visit, and prepare a quote or proposal.
- To do the work, including coordinating with engineers, inspectors, and county or city health and permitting offices on your project.
- To send invoices, keep job records, and meet tax, licensing, and legal record-keeping requirements.
- To keep the website secure and improve how it works.
Calls and text messages
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text that number to respond to your request and to update you about your project. We do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. To stop texts, reply STOP or tell us, and we will reach you another way.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run our business and do your job:
- Service providers that host and operate our website, forms, database, email, and phones (for example our web host, Supabase for our project and customer records, Formspree as a backup form service, Microsoft for email, and Google for analytics). They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- People involved in your project, such as a design engineer, a county sanitarian or inspector, or a pumping company, when needed to complete the work.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights, our crew, or others.
- If the business is sold or transferred, as part of that transaction.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and job information as long as needed to respond, do the work, stand behind it, and meet our business, tax, and legal record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS encryption. Form submissions go to systems with access limited to our staff, protected by sign-in and two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information like Social Security, bank, or card numbers through the website.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we have about you, or to stop contacting you. Email info@rdmpe.com or call (515) 993-7802. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep some records where the law requires it (for example, job and tax records).
Children
This site is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to other websites, such as Facebook and Iowa state program pages. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
